FAQs

  • Yes - this is one of the most important considerations we take. Our tanks use a multi step filtration process to clean the water after each use - the salinity keeps the water sterile. However, it is cycled three times through a 1 micron filter (a human hair is 50 microns for reference), while ozone and hydrogen peroxide are pumped in, and it is run through a UVC light. For more information on the process, you can visit: Super Float Tanks Filtration.

  • No! We provide everything you need - towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, ear plugs. If you’d like a comb or a contact lense storage, we recommend bringing those items. (or any other personal item). Each room is fully private so bathing suits are not needed and not recommended.

  • There is no guarantee that the salt won’t strip some color from your hair, so we recommend checking in the shower at home if the water running through your hair is fully clear. If there is still some color coming out we recommend waiting a couple more days/shower cycles. There is a charge for hair dye that discolors our water or float tanks -you will see this on the waiver.

  • Yes! Floating is actually a great way for a pregnant woman to relax. Always, if you have any concerns, consult with your doctor. And for more information, check out this video: Floating & Pregnancy: Float Conference 2016

  • This will differ for everyone, but generally: Avoid caffeine for at least a few hours beforehand to reduce the chances of having the jitters. Don’t shave or wax at least 8-12 hours since the salt water can irritate your skin. Eating a light meal about an hour or two ahead of time can be helpful. Other than that we will walk you through the pre and post float process when you get here!

  • Being in the tank is more like floating on a cloud than being in a box. Our tanks are actually float suites - tall enough to stand up in. And YOU are always in control - you can turn the lights or sound on or off at any point, or just open the door!ription

  • This will differ for everyone…many people feel amazing after their first float, while some take 2-3 floats to get the full benefit. This is why we offer three floats in our introduction package!

  • Yes.  Follow the same protocol you would for a swimming pool. Keep in mind the salt can be an irritant if you’re already experiencing discomfort.

  • All tanks aim to provide a similar experience - clean water to float in with complete sensory deprivation. However, we chose our tank manufacturer for their proven track record in quality and cleanliness. And we chose the larger tank footprint to give users the best experience possible which includes controls for light and sound, a night sky option (minimal light), as well as fresh air being pumped into the tank to prevent having to breath stale/warm air.
